CNN Commentator Revealed to be Working for Americas Health Insurance Plans In other healthcare news, the watchdog group Media Matters has revealed one of CNNs regular on-air commentators is on the payroll of Americas Health Insurance Plans, an industry lobbying group opposed to the current healthcare reform efforts. Until yesterday, CNN had never acknowledged Alex Castellanoss affiliation. Media Matters revealed that Castellanoss consulting firm, National Media, recently placed over $1 million of TV advertising for Americas Health Insurance Plans. Castellanoss company has also done work for the Federation of American Hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry group PhRMA, and the HCA Sunrise Hospital.

Their industry report says the Baucus plan will hike your annual premium by $4000 by 2019. But the only reason they are screaming is because Baucus isn’t exactly forcing everyone into the insurance pool. The report is correct … but trust me … these guys are on the government’s side.
